impressions: conference in Riga

My late impressions on ‚ 1 0th Annual Conference for Testing Professionals "TEST MORE FOR LESS". One day conference, starting early in the morning. Had a chance to see Riga old town in the evening. It was not first time taking attending the conference – during studies at the UNI, we have prepared once. This was the first time I attended a testing related event. So many testers in one place :) The organisers of the conference really worked hard. Our company group enjoyed everything – the presentations in English, the time management, coffy breaks and tasty luch. Now, the program and all conference material are available at is.lv website. The main impression – automation and agile rules. Last year we also switched from waterfall to RUP iteration. and starting more serious automated testing.. What is the drawback of a conference, that presentations are short. (If you are not interested or do not understand Latvian, of course, happy it is only 20-30 minutes) When you are really ...

The Software & Systems Quality Conference (SQC) is EuropeĆ¢€™s leading conference on software quality management, testing and process optimisation. Its continued growth since the first conference in 1996 bears testimony to the importance which IT managers and specialists attach to it. eurostar, testing challenge

the Eurostar 2008 is over, the next year theme is 'Testing Challenge'. There are some interviews about testing challenge for the year 2009 in youtube. the quality is really poor, this one i liked the most:

on Testing in youtube

Made a discovery this morning. Was too lazy to read the book „the testing practitioner“, mentioned in previous post. And felt a desire to listen to something on Software testing topic. Yes! The internet! Of course – the YouTube site. Well, did not do the big research what to look at, took on the first - Google Tech Talks, December 9, 2005, Agile testing by Elisabeth Hendrickson. My impressions – first, it is very interesting to find out one more source of information. Feels like participating at the conference. Will come back for sure and do some more watching and listening the other day. The topic itself, agile testing. Am not familiar with it, and especially after the teaching feel it is something different I am working with. What I caught up, the agile testing is something anti-classical approach to testing, everyone is testing and testers are the developers, there are many iterations with the releases, all of them tested and working fine, there is much about test automati...

What is hot in the testing field?

Had a look at some conferences advertised on the web. ( US testers are lucky – so many software testing events.) If you are wondering what is hot now – just check the conference programs (or job ads. well, its not the topic of the post..). Test Management, Test Techniques, Metrics, Performance Testing, Reviews & Inspections are more classical topics. And here – some showing the changes in the field: Testing Web Sites/Applications , Test Automation, Automating Test Execution, Exploratory Testing, and Agile Testing... Seems the first South East European Software Testing Conference SEETEST 2008 will not answer those questions. Although there is a remarkable need to gather testing professionals and interested in Software Software quality to one place. The conference is more concentrated on practical everyday topics in the testers job. Test Design: Specifying Test Cases, Software Testing Essentials, Methodology for structured software testing and an example test strategy ...
